Ribbon Cuttings

We Celebrate Bee County Together

As businesses emerge, have a special anniversary, expand, relocate, or even break ground we want to celebrate their achievement with the community. We are elated by your success and want to help you mark this momentous occasion.

Why a Chamber Ribbon Cutting?

A ribbon cutting is a great ceremonial way of opening or celebrating your business achievement. It can be an inauguration for your first day of business or occur weeks after the soft opening. Ribbon cuttings can also be utilized to celebrate renovations & expansions. These services are offered for free to our chamber members. We provide the ribbon, in your choice of color, and the scissors. We also invite the media and other important dignitaries to your event to acknowledge your success.

Benefits of holding a Chamber Ribbon Cutting

Since a ribbon cutting marks a special occasion for businesses it is a great opportunity to capture the moment in a photo. The Chamber invites our local media out to take a photograph for the newspaper and we will also take some pictures for our digital newsletter. Each business has the opportunity to pull forward the team members that they want to highlight. It also gives the owner an opportunity to speak to the gathered crowd, elaborate on the business to the community, and thank those who have helped them along the way.

What does the Chamber do for my Ribbon Cutting?

The Chamber will promote your ribbon cutting in our online event calendar, digital newsletter, social media, and the newspaper. We will provide the ribbon, ceremonial scissors, and invite our Board of Directors, members, the newspaper, and local dignitaries to attend your event. We will welcome the attendees, introduce you, and take photos at the event.

Considerations for your Ribbon Cutting:

WHO will cut the ribbon? The owners or top executives most frequently do the honors, but each organization is different and can pick whomever they like to do the honors.

WHEN will you hold your event? We find that Tuesday-Thursday, midday over the lunch hour, late afternoon, or early evenings draw the largest crowds. We cannot assist with events scheduled on weekends or holidays. Ideally you will provide the Chamber at least 2 weeks notice prior to the event so that we can help promote it.

WHAT you wish to share when you speak just before or after the ribbon is cut. You can thank those who helped along the process, how you came about owning/updating/moving, and share any specials or upcoming events. Please limit your speech to 3 minutes or one page of notes.

HOW you can maximize this program. Consider sending a special invitation to your clients, offering a drawing or raffle to collect business cards to build your database, or host a small reception to engage traffic at your venue.

THE TYPICAL RIBBON CUTTING EVENT WILL LAST ONLY 15-30 MINUTES.

Refreshments, drinks, door prizes, and decorations are all optional and up to you. Keep in mind, however, that ribbon cuttings are typically short and sweet.
